Excavator and plastic mats or modern methods
A failed traditional excavation drainage can mean large renovation costs. The site must be excavated again, and both the damp-proof insulating layer and the drainage pipes must be replaced. Internal decontamination may also be necessary; structures demolished, and infested timber replaced. A big problem is that you do not know how bad it is until you have dug up around the house. In the worst case, it may turn out to be impossible to lay the drainage at the recommended depth. The problem cannot be solved with traditional digging technology and therefore has been dug up completely unnecessarily. There is also a risk that water will still be sucked into the plate itself, where the capillary force is greatest. This is because the space under the base plate is difficult to access. To summarize:
Dry cellar without digging
With Electro Drains technology, damp is driven out of walls and floors in basements, without digging up and destroying the garden. After the damp has been expelled, the equipment is allowed to remain, thus preventing new problems with damp and mold. The operating cost is only 50 to 100 SEK per year.
Dehumidify the basement - without digging up the garden
There is nothing worse than the methods that require your garden to look like a battlefield with trenches. Electro Drains technology for dehumidifying basements only requires installation from the inside. The only thing you need to do is watch as the water is naturally sucked out of the basement. With our drainage technology, you not only do not have to dig up the garden, but you also can be assured that you only pay if it gets dry.
You have control over the total cost
Unlike other methods on the market for draining basements of damp, Electro Drain's technology is energy efficient and cost effective. You only pay for the installation and an operating cost of between 50 to 100 SEK (approx 5 to 15 EUR per year in Sweden). Our drainage method is usually cheaper than a traditional drainage. Count on about half of the cost and then we have not calculated what it costs to restore the house, garden and expensive facilities such as balconies, stairs and stone paving to the condition it was before the excavator started. These are all costs that you avoid when you drain with Electro Drain.
The method also dries up a large part of the floor.
One of the great advantages of the Electro Drains method is that it not only dries up the wall but also the floor. The system dries the floor up to 2 meters from the wall. If the problem with capillary suction material under the plate is large, the system can be mounted in the partitions to then act 2 meters out from these. In this way, a larger part of the floor is dried. It is also possible to mill grooves in the floor to put in an extra electrode loop. This method dries large floor areas and is suitable for example on slabs on the ground. The walls are guaranteed to be dry within 90 days. The floor may require longer drying time than the walls, as up to 80% of all damp intrusion comes from the floor / base plate.
Quick installation.
Forget long waits for drainage to be performed. The installation of the Electro Drains plant will be completed in one day. You avoid problems and do not have to spend time restoring the garden. We install all year round, unaffected by weather and wind. In other words, you can install before the autumn or spring rains starts.
Less risk of settlements.
By avoiding digging, you reduce the risk of subsidence in the house. Today, the recommendation is to dig half a meter below the plate edge. This reduces compaction and leads to drying of the material under the plate. All in all, this increases the risk of settlements. A settlement can entail large costs and if it becomes really bad, the house can be difficult to sell. With Electro Drains technology, you avoid digging and avoid the risk of settling.
Eco-smart drainage.
By using Electro Drain to solve your problems with damp, you minimize the negative impact on the environment. The manufacture of our system does not produce plastics, nor does it generate large transports or fuel consumption for excavators. The operating cost for our plant, approximately 50 to 150 SEK per year (approx 5 to 15 EUR per year in Sweden), is considerably lower than the cost of a dehumidifier. When the transportation of damp through the construction in walls and floors decreases, the supply of radon also decreases.
